Her tribe, by nature, was not famed for the art of war; they were solitary folk, gentle and kind, more inclined toward peace than battle. Yet the world remembers the fearsome might of the Crescent Moon’s Oracle, for within that tribe dwelt a sacred covenant. They worshiped the deity of the Crescent Moon, and in return for offerings and reverence, the god would choose a maiden from among them to serve as His vessel. Upon the chosen one, the Crescent Moon descended, inhabiting her flesh, guarding the tribe from invaders, and striking down foes with merciless wrath. It is said that a woman so possessed bore strength beyond mortal measure. She wielded the tribe’s ancient weapon—a colossal blade shaped like the crescent moon itself, so heavy that many men together could scarcely lift it. Yet in her hands, the sacred blade danced as lightly as a feather, cleaving through enemies with effortless grace. Still, whispers of heresy followed the tribe. Many faithful worshipers of the Full Moon scorned them, declaring the Crescent Moon a false god, a phantom unworthy of devotion. For to them, the true moon could only be whole, singular, and indivisible. "I have never been one with she whom you call the Goddess of the Full Moon. Nor would she ever claim kinship with me.
