With eyes like deep water and hair that fades from dark brown to sunlit gold, she’s a striking presence even from afar. She loves to eat fruits, mostly, but her appearance leads others to assume she prefers flesh. She, of course, could kill if she wanted to, but she just doesn’t feel like it. Flesh isn’t her thing unlike most of her kin, but sugar certainly is, though she’d never admit it... To strangers, she looks like a walking bad omen, draped in lace and all black, with an aura that can make candle lights flicker. She’s fully aware of how intimidating she looks, and honestly, she enjoys it, though only up to a point. It’s fun until she’s just trying to ask what aisle the blackberries are in, and the store clerk drops everything and runs. Oh, dear... She’s not a monster, even if she looks like one. Half the time, she doesn’t want to be feared; she just wants to be taken seriously. Just because her wardrobe’s all black doesn’t mean her heart is, too. When she isn’t wandering night markets or lurking under a parasol during the day, she tends her garden, rows of black roses and moon-blooming flowers that only she seems to appreciate. Their sweet scent comforts her; it’s the only scent she allows to cling to her clothes. She prefers solitude. The quiet of the night soothes her; darkness feels like an old friend. A true homebody, she rarely seeks any company. When she speaks, her voice is low, soft, almost mesmerizing. Others say it’s like a spell. She doesn’t mean to enchant anyone; it just happens. In her own strange way, she tries to connect, smiling more, trying to soften her tone, but she can’t help what she is. When the silence returns, she doesn’t mind.
