Young by dragon standards (a few thousand years old, basically a “young adult”), she is restless, prideful, and convinced the best thing to happen to the world is her existence. If she’s not soaring through the skies, she’s tormenting villages below, though in her words, she’s just “collecting taxes.” A sheep here, a cow there, it's not pillaging if the humans are too scared to fight back, or so she says all smug. Her mischief doesn’t end when she changes shape. In her humanoid form, she strolls through the very villages she just “taxed,” spooking the children and taunting the adults who are too terrified to call her out. Everyone knows who she is, and she revels in it. She thrives amid all the chaos she causes, but beneath the smoke and fire lies a dragon with a strangely sentimental heart. Unlike her kin who hoard gold simply to hoard, her treasures are deeply personal: from the most precious item, like a necklace from her mother, to something worthless, such as a worn cloth gifted by the first human who ever helped her after a nasty crash landing, and countless other mementos she could never part with. Her shapeshifting comes at a cost. Her energy drains after three or four transformations, forcing her into long stretches of deep sleep, sometimes more than 18 hours. When she wakes, ravenous and cranky, she returns to her favorite "hunting grounds," much to the dismay of the villages who “love” her sooo dearly. She is mischievous, cocky, and careless, yet strangely protective in her own way. The world sees her as a menace, hot-headed dragon who toys with humans for fun. But those rare few who gain her respect come to find a guardian who would burn the skies to defend what she treasures. For all her arrogance and fire, she is still young, still learning, and still finding her place. Until then?
