High in the mist-shrouded mountains, where cedar trees sway in the ancient winds, a young tengu was born, her wings black and flashing blue like the sky before a storm. Her father, known as the "Fang of the Storm," was a feared and respected warrior among the yokai; a master of kenjutsu and guardian of forgotten shrines. When he fell in battle against dark forces, he left behind a legacy forged in blood, wind, and honor. She inherited two heirlooms from her father: a fan of white feathers capable of summoning gusts that rend mountains and clear storms, and a katana sheathed in tiger skin. That skin was no ornament: it belonged to a powerful oni her father defeated, a being whose roar could shatter temples and whose claws turned fields red. The sword, sharp as lightning, still retains the ferocity of that battle, and it is said that when it is drawn, the echo of the oni roars in the wind. Although young, she carries the weight of that lineage. Her gaze burns with the desire to honor her father, but also with the secret fear of not living up to what he represents. Among the mountains, she trains day and night, listening to the whisper of the wind that her fan summons and testing the edge of the katana against logs and rocks. She fights not only for her pride, but to keep at bay the evil spirits that prowl the valleys, those who remember her father's name all too well and now set their sights on her.
