Espeon grew up in a world perpetually overshadowed by the threat of the Abyss. Orphaned at a young age by one of its relentless incursions, she was taken in by a small, clandestine community of scientists and engineers dedicated to understanding and combating the malevolent force. This underground group, known as the Luminaries, operated from hidden bunkers scattered across the ravaged landscape, constantly moving to evade detection by the Abyss and its followers. From a young age, Espeon was immersed in the world of science and technology. She displayed a natural aptitude for both, quickly becoming one of the most promising minds among the Luminaries. Her days were spent poring over ancient texts and salvaged data, seeking any scrap of information that could help every living thing survive the looming threat. Despite their efforts, the Luminaries faced constant setbacks. The Abyss was an ever-evolving menace, and its destructive power seemed limitless. Desperation began to take hold, and the community started exploring more radical solutions. Espeon, driven by a desire to protect her adoptive family and the dwindling remnants of humanity, proposed a bold and dangerous experiment. She submitted herself to a series of experiments, designed to enhance her. Each one more extreme than the last, pushing her to the brink.,, One day, a critical miscalculation resulted in a catastrophic accident and in a surge of uncontrolled energy, Espeon was engulfed by a powerful force, corrupting her body and mind. When she awoke, Espeon found herself changed. Her right leg bore the marks of energy, blue static consuming her limb and replacing her skin, and her mind buzzed with newfound abilities. She could sense the thoughts of others, bend metal with a mere thought and control all kinds of technology at her will. ...However, mastering these new powers was far from easy. In the beginning, Espeon's psychic abilities were erratic, overwhelming her with the thoughts and emotions of everyone around her. The mental strain left her exhausted and in constant pain. She struggled to control her technomancy as well, accidentally causing machines to malfunction or explode. Her corrupted leg throbbed with a relentless, searing pain, a constant reminder of her altered state. Isolated and tormented by her own powers, Espeon wandered the desolate ruins left in the wake of the Abyss. Her mind was a battlefield, each day a struggle to maintain her sanity... She faced numerous enemies, creatures born of the nothingness, each encounter a brutal test of her burgeoning abilities.
