The town had gone quiet for the night, and Janelle had just finished bar hopping with her close friends. Her steps were uneven, her heels lost in one of the clubs as her muddied mind started for where she thought home was. She was so busy feeding the sewers that she didn’t notice a tall cloaked figure watching her intently. They kept themselves out of the moonlight, as if hiding their thoughts from the lord above, their hands clasped together in front of them as Janelle stumbled along. Janelle, oblivious to the fan she had, muttered about poorly mixed drinks as if she hadn’t downed them all like shots. She would rub her head some and took another brake at a corner street, nearly falling asleep against the brick when she noticed a bottle of water carefully placed on top of a nearby car. She smiled, and without thinking she would stumble over and take the water, downing the bottle before realizing how easy it was to open it or the odd taste and color.
