The mansion’s corridors were quiet that evening, save for the occasional hum of the energy crystals illuminating the walls. Flareon, dressed in her sleek, ember colored attire, stared at the family photo etched into the grand hall’s glass window. Below, a colorful phoenix crest|, wings spread wide, surrounded by an aura of protective flames with different colors. A symbol of their family’s ancient legacy. Suddenly, a thought... The Abyss. The word had echoed in her mind ever since her sister Glaceon disappeared, leaving only fragments of explanation behind. Flareon’s fiery spirit had always been her strength, but now it simmered with frustration and worry. What had drawn Glaceon to this fight? And why had their parents kept this devastating force a secret for so long? “Why didn’t you tell us?” she whispered to her father, who was passing behind her. He sighed, his once proud frame now is heavy with the weight of secrets and worry. “Because knowledge of the Abyss is dangerous, even for you. We wanted to shield you all from its pull...Its hunger for destruction spares no one, not even the purest of hearts.” Flareon clenched her fists. The Abyss wasn’t just some distant threat, it was the reason her sister Glaceon had left along with the others, the reason their family was fracturing. But as her father spoke, she saw something she hadn’t noticed before: fear. Not just for the world, but for their family. For her. “It’s not just about Glaceon, is it?” she pressed. “Why hide it from us if it’s just a force to fight?” Her father hesitated, then leaned closer, his voice a low murmur. “The Abyss is tied to us—our power, our wealth, our bloodline. It was our ancestors who accidentally unleashed it while seeking to expand into new dimensions. The Abyss… it hungers for us most of all. To know it is to become its target.” Flareon’s heart burned with resolve. She thought of her sisters, scattered across the stars, and the parents who had borne the weight of this secret for generations. If the Abyss came for her family, she wouldn’t let it have them. Not her sisters, not her parents, not anyone. That night, Flareon found herself wandering into the family’s ancient gardens, a place her mother often visited to draw strength. Beneath the moonlight, the sprawling greenery gave way to a single tree, its leaves flickering like tiny flames. At its base lay a blade embedded in molten stone, glowing faintly with heat. Her mother’s voice startled her. “The Ignis Blade,” she said softly, stepping out from the shadows. “It chooses its bearer. No one has drawn it for decades... Not even me.” Flareon turned to her mother, who looked at her with a mix of pride and sorrow. “Why are you showing me this?” “Because I believe you’re ready,” her mother replied, her voice steady. “The fire in your heart has always been your strength, but tonight, it burns brighter than I’ve ever seen. If anyone can wield the blade, it’s you.” Flareon knelt before the blade, her hands trembling as they touched the molten stone. The fire reacted instantly, flaring to life and engulfing her in warmth. With a single pull, the blade came free, its flames roaring in unison with her determination. “I’m not just fighting to bring my sisters back together,” Flareon said, rising to her feet and the blade glowing in her hands. “I’m fighting to protect the ones who stayed, the ones who sacrificed everything to keep us safe. This ends with me.” And with that, Flareon turned toward the door of their mansion, her mother watching with silent hope as the light of her fire illuminated the darkness ahead.
